Do you recognize the proud little papa in this picture? Are you kidding me – you really don’t know this German Shepard? Notice the badge on his collar? It’s our very own McGee, a Z-Badge Unit. He’s been retired for over a year now, but judging from the large number of absolutely adorable puppies he helped with in this litter… He certainly doesn’t look RETIRED to us! As his owner Trooper Thomas Cantrell from Troop G says, “It’s bad having to wait until you retire before you get a lady friend and have kids. LOL” This is McGee’s first litter of puppies, and as of May 26, these sweet little patrol puppies were about five weeks old. Maybe Cantrell can start a sideline business and have McGee help make more of these beautiful puppies, train them for duty, and sell these patrol babies back to the Mississippi Highway Patrol! Kinda funny – you work and work and work while you’re a Z-Badge on patrol, and finally get to retire and enjoy to calm and quiet life of retirement. Then one day – BAM! You’ve got seven precious little babies yelping around, biting everything in sight, wrestling with each other, crying at night when they can’t get in the bed with you, and of course there’s that whole “potty training” thing you gotta do. Well, I’ve already picked out the five that I want, you’ll have to go through Cantrell to claim the rest. Congratulations to you McGee on your new family additions. (Thanks for sharing these great, sweet, adorable, cuddly baby pictures!) We look forward to watching them grow and perhaps be on the highway patrol like Cantrell and McGee.
