Just recently, Troopers Corey Loftin and Michael Freeman were dispatched to Orlando, Florida, to escort the University of Southern Miss football team. While back at home, Corey’s wife, Jessica, was getting ready to have twins. She had a routine doctor’s appointment, and discovered that she was having problems and would have to deliver the next morning! Corey hopped the next flight home. Jessica says that the twins didn’t want their daddy to be at Disney World without them. Corey made it just in time for the twins to be delivered. On November 8th at 8:45 a.m., Cannon Corey Loftin was born weighing in at 3lbs 3oz and 15 inches long. Only 20 seconds later, Gunner Cody Loftin was born weighing in at 3lbs 6oz and 15 1/2 inches long. The boys had to spend eight days in the NICU at Forrest General. Both Gunner and Cannon are at home now and doing great. Looks like it was a great Christmas at the Loftin home this year! Jessica says that the twins are working the nightshift and exercising their lungs very well! In addition to Daddy Corey, the twins have another relative in the trooper family, Trooper Clay Loftin. Jessica, thanks for sharing your pictures and that great story! Congratulations to Corey and Jessica Loftin on the birth of their sons, Cannon and Gunner! On behalf of the entire Mississippi Highway Patrol family, we welcome the twins into the larger trooper family!
