As we try to keep improving trooper salaries, sometimes you have to take second jobs. Sometimes, those turn out to be “seasonal” second jobs. Take Trooper Reed Harrington, the tough SWAT team member, as an example. He’s learning the fine-art of pumpkin carving from his young daughter during the Halloween season. Here, she’s showing her daddy how to properly scoop out the inside before you do the intricate, detailed carving. It’s rumored that she said, “Hey daddy, it’s much more fun if you just use your hands to scoop out the gooey insides, don’t ever use the bowl, and clean up the mess tomorrow.” You probably would never guess that he’s still just an apprentice at this job, but we’ve uncovered the truth. You see, after Reed’s wife, Yancy, took this picture, she had to step in to complete the task as the real pumpkin carver. Isn’t that right, Yancy? And in lieu of the traditional candle inside the perfectly carved pumpkin, Reed wanted to “light it up” with some C-4 so that all the neighbors hear it; I mean see it. Guess that SWAT training never really leaves you… What do you suppose is next for Reed? That we learn he can carve a turkey or trim a Christmas tree perhaps? Hey Reed, no offense, but we think you should definitely keep your day job!
