License & Registration, please mam…If someone sees blue lights in their rear-view mirror, they know they’ve committed a traffic violation. When Tara Winter saw blue lights in her rear-view mirror - her heart began pounding, her pulse racing faster than she’d been driving, palms were sweaty, the excuses for speeding were pouring into her subconscious - and she promptly pulled over. Trooper Jason Terrell walked up, and said “license and registration, please mam.” Tara got a ticket that night, and she got something else, too. She got the name of a trooper who’d been to trooper school, ironically, with her brother, Matthew Winter. Weeks would pass before she worked up the nerve to call him. Just 12 months after that chance meeting with the blue lights, she got another license and registration. Trooper Terrell and Tara got a marriage “license” and “registered” at several department stores. Get it? They were married! Seven years later, they celebrated their anniversary at convention on June 30th. Trooper Terrell was asked what he planned for their anniversary.  His quick, SWAT-like accurate response was - “nothing, every day’s a special day with my bride.” You never know what will happen the next time you pull someone over - it might get you a different type of “license and registration.”

Congratulations, Jason and Tara.
