Brenda WallaceBrenda Wallace, our “Mama” at the Mississippi Trooper Store, is in intensive care here in the metro-Jackson area.  Earlier in the week, she had knee replacement surgery.  There has been some fluid build-up on her lungs, and her doctors now have her in the ICU.  Please do not try to call her home.  If you’d like to get updates as to her condition, please contact the Trooper Store.  In the meantime, please join the MSTA Board of Directors in keeping “Mama” Brenda in your thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery.

MSTAGreetings MSTA family - We are proud to announce the scholarship topic for this year.  Please have all students eligible to write about the following:  “THE REFLECTION OF A MISSISSIPPI STATE TROOPER: REPUTATION IS FOR TIME; CHARACTER IS FOR ETERNITY.” A famous saying states, reputation is for time; character is for eternity.  Think about this quotation as it relates to a person’s character and the impact that our life choices have on our character. Write an essay explaining your thoughts as they relate to this quotation. Be sure to support your thoughts and specific points and/or examples. You may use points and/or examples based on personal experiences, reading, or observations and base them as a reflection of a Mississippi State Trooper.  So, good luck and get busy writing.

M/Sgt Larry Conn and Miller with a 9 pointer! It would appear that on a recent hunting expedition,  either M/Sgt Larry Conn or Miller scored a major nine point deer.  Conn is quick to tell you that Miller was the one who successfully called out this deer with his “new found grunt calling skills.”  As a result of all the hard work that Miller put into this effort, we’re only gonna give Conn an assist on this deer.  Since Conn was once on the SWAT team, we think he may have been brushing up on his shooting skills.  We’ll let our readers decide who should get the credit for this nine pointer.  Conn or Miller?  Voting begins now.  The tally is in - over ONE MILLION readers give all the credit for this 9 point deer to Miller!
